Terms & Conditions for the Guided Foraging Walks

Last updated: 23 Apr 2026

By booking a guided foraging walk or purchasing a gift voucher, you confirm that you’ve read, understood, and agreed to the following terms. These apply to all participants named in your booking.

  1. Booking & Payment
  • All walks must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
  • Bookings are only confirmed once full payment has been received.
  • Price is marked for each individual walk.
  • Walks are tied to specific public locations and are not tailored to individual participants.
  • No travel fees apply; however, each participant is responsible for their own transport to and from the walk location.
  • Walks are booked via a secure third-party platform (e.g. Stripe on this website or Eventbrite) only. Bookings must be made in the name of each individual attending (unless you are booking additional tickets for others attending with you on the day).
  • Only tickets purchased through official channels are valid. Tickets obtained elsewhere will not be honoured.
  • You accept these terms on behalf of all parties you are booking for and agree to advise them of these terms and conditions.
  • Participants must be aged 18 or over unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Group sizes are limited and may vary by event. This ensures an enjoyable and safe experience for all attendees.
  • You acknowledge that your information is subject to the platform’s terms of service and privacy policy.
  • I reserve the right to decline any booking; all clients will be treated fairly in line with UK equality laws.
  1. Non-Transferable Bookings
  • Your booking is for the named individual only and cannot be transferred to another person.
  • If you’re unable to attend, please contact me as soon as possible to discuss options. Transfers may be considered on a case-by-case basis but are not guaranteed.
  1. Privacy & Changes
  • I handle your personal data in compliance with GDPR and will never share your details without consent unless required by law or to provide the service.
  • Walk details are accurate at the time of publishing but may change due to weather, access, safety, or environmental reasons. You’ll be notified of any changes promptly.
  1. Health & Safety

By booking, you agree to follow all safety advice.

Important safety points:

  • Always check with me before tasting or taking anything home.
  • If in doubt, don’t eat.
  • Food consumed after the walk is at your own risk.
  • You’re never required to touch, handle, or taste anything.
  • I cannot accept responsibility for food passed on to others who didn’t attend.
  • You are responsible for your footing and general awareness.
  • Participation is at your own risk.
  • I cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury, damage or death incurred as a result of attending a walk.
  1. Weather & Outdoor Conditions
  • Walks continue in typical UK weather—rain, wind, and all.
  • In extreme conditions (e.g. storms, high winds), I may cancel for safety. An alternative date or location (within 20 miles) will be offered.
  • You are responsible for dressing appropriately and bringing essentials such as:
    • Waterproof clothing
    • Sun protection
    • Sturdy footwear
    • Snacks and drinking water
    • Cover arms and legs to help guard against brambles, nettles, and ticks.
  1. Fitness Condition
  • Walks involve gentle walking with regular stops. Routes may include uneven ground or muddy paths.
  • If you’re reasonably mobile and steady on your feet, you’ll be fine.
  • Please contact me before booking if you have mobility concerns or medical conditions that could affect your participation.
  • By booking, you confirm that you and/or everyone coming with you is fit to take part safely.
  1. Children
  • Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
  • Adults are fully responsible for their child’s safety and conduct.
  • For babies and toddlers, slings or carriers are recommended—terrain may not suit pushchairs.
  • Please get in touch if you’re unsure whether a walk is suitable for young children.
  1. Plant Finds
  • Foraging is seasonal and unpredictable, so I can’t guarantee what we’ll find. That said, there’s always something to learn.
  • We may identify 5–20 species depending on the walk’s length, weather, season, and location.
  • Each walk follows a set route and embraces the unpredictability of nature.

Seasonal highlights may include:

  • Spring: Salad leaves, greens, new shoots
  • Summer: Flowers, seeds, soft fruits
  • Autumn: Hedgerow berries, nuts, mushrooms
  1. Medical Information
  • Please inform me in advance of any relevant health conditions (e.g. allergies, asthma, epilepsy, pregnancy).
  • Bring any necessary medication (e.g. inhaler, EpiPen) and let me know where it’s kept.
  • This information is confidential and helps tailor the walk for your safety.
  1. Vouchers (Not available at this time, Apr 2026)
  • Valid from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2026.
  • Non-refundable and not redeemable for cash.
  • Possessing a voucher doesn’t guarantee a place—please book early.
  • Vouchers are transferable, but usage is still subject to availability.
  • Courses typically run March to October with limited spaces.
  1. Cancellations & Refunds
  • Cancel up to 30 days before the event for a full refund (minus a £10 admin fee).
  • No refunds within 30 days of the event.
  • If unwell or needing to reschedule, contact me ASAP—I’ll try to accommodate where possible.
  • If I cancel (e.g. illness, unsafe weather), you’ll receive a full refund or can reschedule.
  • If you are unable to attend, your place cannot be carried over to a future event unless agreed in writing.
  • Walks start promptly. Participants agree that it is their responsibility to arrive on time at the correct meeting place. Courses will start at the published start time (as per email instructions) and the group will begin walking away from the meeting point at that time.
  • Those who arrive late will be unable to attend the course and will forfeit their place and fees. No refund or compensation will be given.
  • I am not liable for additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation, parking).
  1. Discounts & Offers
  • Must be claimed at the time of booking.
  • They cannot be applied retrospectively and are subject to availability.
  1. Foraging Ethics & Wild Food Safety
  • I’ll guide you in safe plant identification, but you’re responsible for your consumption choices.
  • Some wild foods are toxic if misidentified—follow all advice closely.
  • Sampling is at your own risk. Some individuals may be sensitive to even small quantities.

We follow sustainable foraging principles:

  • Take only what you’ll use
  • Leave no trace
  • Respect wildlife and habitats

I accept no responsibility for how you use this knowledge after the walk.

  1. Conduct & Behaviour
  • Respectful, safe behaviour is expected at all times.
  • I may remove participants without refund for:
    • Unsafe or disruptive conduct
    • Signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhoea, persistent coughing/sneezing)
    • Aggressive or inappropriate behaviour
    • Refusal to follow safety guidelines
  • Participants must remain with the group at all times unless advised otherwise.
  1. Photos, Media & Privacy
  • I may take photographs to document the walk for marketing purposes but will not use your visible face if you ask me not to.
  • During the walk, you are welcome to take photos of plants for your reference.
  • Please refrain from filming me during the walk.
  • Your personal information (e.g. name, email, medical details) is stored securely and never shared without consent.
  • By booking, you agree to receive essential pre- and post-walk emails.
  • You may unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
  1. Disclaimer
  • Outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including injury, allergic reactions, or adverse effects.
  • I am not liable for injury or illness unless caused by proven negligence.

  • All teaching materials, handouts, and resources are for personal use only.
  • They must not be copied, shared, or used commercially without written permission.
  1. Accessibility & Inclusivity

  • Contact me in advance to discuss any specific access needs.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or disrespect will not be tolerated.

  • I’ll do my best to resolve the issue fairly. If needed, alternative dispute resolution may be pursued.
  1. Force Majeure
  • Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to unforeseen events beyond reasonable control (e.g. severe weather, strikes, restrictions).
  1. Limitation of Liability
  • Except as required by law, I am not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property during or after the walk, including any issues from consuming wild food or using advice from the session.
