By booking a private walk or purchasing a gift voucher, you confirm that you’ve read, understood, and agreed to the following terms. These apply to all members of your booking party.
1. Booking & Payment

All walks must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

Bookings are only confirmed once full payment has been received.

Current pricing: £120 for up to 2 people (£20 per additional person) (Maximum group size: 5)
-
A small travel fee may apply for locations outside Sutton Coldfield.
-
Walks and courses are booked via email or secure third-party platform (e.g. Stripe).
-
You acknowledge that your information is subject to the platform’s terms of service and privacy policy.
-
I reserve the right to decline any booking; all clients will be treated fairly in line with UK equality laws.
2. Non-Transferable Bookings

Your booking is for you or your designated group only and may not be transferred to another person.

Please contact me if you wish to discuss a transfer.
3. Privacy & Changes

I handle your personal data in compliance with GDPR and will never share your details without consent unless required by law or to provide the service.
-
Walk/course details are accurate at the time of publishing but may change due to weather, access, safety, or environmental reasons. You’ll be notified of any changes promptly.
4. Health & Safety

By booking, you agree to follow all safety advice.

While I will guide you in identifying edible and inedible foods, you are ultimately responsible for what you choose to consume.
Important safety points:

Always check with me before tasting or taking anything home.

If in doubt, don’t eat.
-
Food consumed after the walk is at your own risk.
-
You’re never required to touch, handle, or taste anything.
-
I cannot accept responsibility for food passed on to others who didn’t attend.

You are responsible for your footing and general awareness.
-
Participation is at your own risk.
-
I am not liable for injury, loss, or damage unless caused by proven negligence.
5. Weather & Outdoor Conditions

Walks continue in typical UK weather—rain, wind, and all.

In extreme conditions (e.g. storms, high winds), I may cancel for safety. An alternative date or location (within 20 miles) will be offered.

You are responsible for dressing appropriately and bringing essentials such as:

Waterproof clothing

Sun protection
-
Sturdy footwear
-
Snacks and drinking water
-
Cover arms and legs to help guard against brambles, nettles, and ticks.

6. Fitness Condition
-
Walks involve gentle walking with regular stops. Routes may include uneven ground or muddy paths.

If you’re reasonably mobile and steady on your feet, you’ll be fine.
-
Please contact me before booking if you have mobility concerns or medical conditions that could affect your participation.

By booking, you confirm that everyone in your group is fit to take part safely.
7. Children
-
Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
-
Adults are fully responsible for their child’s safety and conduct.
-
For babies and toddlers, slings or carriers are recommended—terrain may not suit pushchairs.
-
Please get in touch if you’re unsure whether a walk is suitable for young children.
8. Plant Finds
-
Foraging is seasonal and unpredictable, so I can’t guarantee what we’ll find. That said, there’s always something to learn.

We may identify 5–20 species depending on the walk’s length, weather, season, and location.
-
Each walk is unique and embraces the unpredictability of nature.
Seasonal highlights may include:

Spring: Salad leaves, greens, new shoots

Summer: Flowers, seeds, soft fruits
-
Autumn: Hedgerow berries, nuts, mushrooms
9. Medical Information

Please inform me in advance of any relevant health conditions (e.g. allergies, asthma, epilepsy, pregnancy).

Bring any necessary medication (e.g. inhaler, EpiPen) and let me know where it’s kept.

This information is confidential and helps tailor the walk for your safety.
10. Vouchers (Currently not available at this time, Feb 2026)

Non-refundable and not redeemable for cash.

Possessing a voucher doesn’t guarantee a place—please book early.

Vouchers are transferable, but usage is still subject to availability.

Courses typically run March to October with limited spaces.
11. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancel up to 30 days before the event for a full refund (minus a £10 admin fee).
-
No refunds within 30 days of the event.
-
If unwell or needing to reschedule, contact me ASAP—I’ll try to accommodate where possible.
-
If I cancel (e.g. illness, unsafe weather), you’ll receive a full refund or can reschedule.
-
I am not liable for additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation, parking).
-
Walks start promptly. Late arrivals may not be admitted, and no refund will be issued.
12. Discounts & Offers

Must be claimed at the time of booking.
-
They cannot be applied retrospectively and are subject to availability.
13. Foraging Ethics & Wild Food Safety
-
I’ll guide you in safe plant identification, but you’re responsible for your consumption choices.
-
Some wild foods are toxic if misidentified—follow all advice closely.
-
Sampling is at your own risk. Some individuals may be sensitive to even small quantities.
We follow sustainable foraging principles:

Respect wildlife and habitats

I accept no responsibility for how you use this knowledge after the walk.
14. Conduct & Behaviour

Respectful, safe behaviour is expected at all times.

I may remove participants without refund for:

Unsafe or disruptive conduct

Signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhoea, persistent coughing/sneezing)
-
Aggressive or inappropriate behaviour
-
Refusal to follow safety guidelines
-
15. Photos, Media & Privacy
-
I will not photograph or film you without your explicit consent, but I may take photos of the event for advertising purposes.

During the walk, you are welcome to take photos of plants for your reference.
-
Please refrain from filming me during the walk unless you get my permission.
-
Your personal information (e.g. name, email, medical details) is stored securely and never shared without consent.
-
By booking, you agree to receive essential pre- and post-walk emails.
-
You may unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
16. Disclaimer

Outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including injury, allergic reactions, or adverse effects.

I am not liable for injury or illness unless caused by proven negligence.

You are responsible for your decisions, especially regarding food identification and consumption.
-
I’m not responsible for loss or damage to belongings. Please keep personal items secure.

17. Intellectual Property

All teaching materials, handouts, and resources are for personal use only.

They must not be copied, shared, or used commercially without written permission.
18. Accessibility & Inclusivity

I aim to make events as inclusive and accessible as possible.

Discrimination, harassment, or disrespect will not be tolerated.
19. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with your experience, please email me here within 7 days.

I’ll do my best to resolve the issue fairly. If needed, alternative dispute resolution may be pursued.
20. Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to unforeseen events beyond reasonable control (e.g. severe weather, strikes, restrictions).
21. Limitation of Liability

Except as required by law, I am not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property during or after the walk, including any issues from consuming wild food or using advice from the session.
22. Changes to These Terms
